Marketing Intern (Summer 2025)

Job Description

This summer, we’re looking for a Marketing Intern to join our team and gain real-world experience in social content creation, copywriting, and website management. You’ll collaborate closely with our Design Intern and committees to manage projects that support our creative community. This is an unpaid internship, but it offers portfolio-building opportunities, meaningful connections, and valuable professional experience.

Responsibilities

As a Marketing Intern, you will:

  • Collaborate with our communications committee to:
    • Develop, schedule, and engage with social media content.
    • Write copy for events, social posts, and other new content.
    • Assist with managing our new website, developed during the summer.
  • Update our website with event info, member updates, and new sponsors.
  • Support project management tasks, including timelines and vendor coordination, to ensure production accuracy and on-budget delivery.
  • Work with the Design Intern to create and execute cohesive marketing materials.
  • Assist with projects such as:
    • Promotional materials for upcoming events.
    • Social content development and management.
    • Testing and building an automated email campaign for members and sponsors.
  • Attend committee meetings, board meetings, and monthly events (some evenings required).
  • Assist with event setup and preparation.
  • Organize assets and projects within Notion to support operations.
  • Contribute to other marketing and communication projects as assigned.

Qualifications

We’re looking for an organized, motivated student with:

  • Enrollment in a college or university program focused on marketing, communications, design, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools (or a willingness to learn).
  • Confidence in collaborating digitally with our team using tools like Slack, Notion, and Google Drive.
  • Your own laptop or computer to complete tasks.
  • Availability for 5 PM – 7 PM meetings/events a few nights per month.

Compensation and Hours

Springfield Creatives is a non-profit. We work on a very small annual budget, but we make a big impact. For this reason we can't offer a paid internship, but we can offer you an excellent experience working in a real world enviornment.

  • Hours: Part-time, up to 25 hours per week. Flexible scheduling available. No weekends required.
  • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
  • Duration: May 2025 – August 18, 2025.
