Editor & Equipment Intern (Summer 2025)

Job Description

This summer, we’re looking for an editing-obsessed, gear-curious intern to join our crew and help us keep the creative wheels turning (and the camera batteries charged).

If you’re the kind of person who alphabetizes your hard drive folders for fun and gets giddy at the sight of a well-packed camera cart, this might be your dream summer gig.

How to Apply

If this sounds like your kind of summer, send us your resume and any relevant work samples (edited videos, reels, portfolio links, etc.). Be sure to tell us why you’re excited to join the Locke and Stache team!

Deadline to Apply: May 9th, 2025

Let’s ride the lightning together this summer!

Responsibilities

As our Editor & Equipment Support Intern, you’ll bounce between pixels and pelican cases. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Post-Production Support:

  • Manage and organize footage assets across Dropbox and our internal server.
  • Assist our lead editor in prepping projects and sorting through selects.
  • Help finish projects to spec with clean exports, proper formatting, and final file delivery.
  • Use Adobe Premiere and Frame.io to collaborate on edits and feedback.

Equipment Prep & Maintenance:

  • Work closely with our Technical Director to prep, test, and maintain gear for upcoming shoots and rentals.
  • Help inventory, clean, and organize equipment including cameras, lighting, grip, and audio.
  • Assist with gear checkouts and returns to ensure everything's in tip-top shape.

Team Tools & Workflow:

  • Collaborate and communicate using Slack, Notion, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Airtable.
  • Stay on track with tasks and deadlines using our internal tools and checklists.

Qualifications

Whether you’re a current student, a recent grad, a self-taught editor, or just someone who’s hungry to grow—we’re looking for people who are curious, motivated, and ready to dive in. Here’s what we’d love to see:

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about managing digital assets.
  • Comfortable navigating tools like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Slack (or willing to learn).
  • Curious about gear and eager to learn hands-on technical skills.
  • A collaborative attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with Frame.io, Slack, or any past experience prepping gear.
  • Must love snacks. (Seriously—we’re fully stocked.)

Benefits

Compensation and Hours

  • Hourly Rate: $20/hour.
  • Hours: Part-time, up to 25 hours per week. We’ll work with you to create a schedule that fits your summer plans.
  • Duration: May 2025 through August 18, 2025.

What’s in it for you?

  • A flexible, fun work environment where we don’t take ourselves too seriously (but do take our work seriously).
  • Hands-on experience across both post-production and production support.
  • One-on-one mentorship with our editing and technical team.
  • A crash course in real-world workflows for professional video production.
  • Endless snacks and beverages to fuel your work.
  • The chance to work with a team of passionate, big-thinking, detail-loving specialists who value play just as much as persistence.
